Philosophy
Therapy begins as a conversation about what you hope to gain from our work, and what your ideal life would look like. We approach treatment as a collaboration between two partners, working together to deepen our understanding of your concerns, and construct alternative ways, of being, thinking, relating and feeling.
Our belief is that all people develop particular ways of managing stress, relating to others, and viewing and understanding themselves in the world. Often these patterns represent creative ways of adapting to our environments, that were effective at some point in life. However, therapy can identify if your patterns are causing emotional pain or other problems in your current life, and can empower you to purposely and mindfully make changes.
Robinson psychotherapy clinicians are committed to centering our clients priorities. In addition to sharing our knowledge, we are firmly committed to respecting our clients expertise on their own experiences. We place a high value on our self-reflection, ongoing education, and commitment to a social justice framework.
